Inside Wire Maintenance

Inside wire maintenance serves as insurance for your telephone service and the equipment in your home or business. A very small monthly fee can save you time, money, and hassle if you experience problems with your telephone service and need repairs. CVTC recommends that customers choose a wire maintenance plan for peace of mind to avoid costly and unnecessary repair charges.

Inside wiring includes all inside wire running from the protective device or network interface device, usually located in a box on the outside of your home or business, through your walls and ending at the telephone jack or other connection device inside the various rooms of your house.

Canadian Valley is responsible for all outside telephone cables and wires from the central office (our equipment) to your home or business. If your telephone does not work due to a problem in our outside wire, we will make appropriate repairs at no charge.

Customers are liable for charges incurred as a result of a premise visit by CVTC for trouble that is caused by customer-owned equipment (i.e. phones, fax machines, etc.) or inside wiring. CVTC shall advise the customer of potential charges prior to the visit when the customer reports the trouble. The standard charge for customers who do not have an Inside Wire Maintenance Plan is $36.25.

CVTC reminds customers to always check your telephone in the event you experience service problems, to be sure the trouble exists within your inside wiring (and not your phone). You may want to test the line using another phone in the house, or borrow a neighbor’s phone to try the line and see if it works.

 

PLAN I — Inside Wire Trouble Identification Plan
(applies to a single line only)

Residential — $1.00 per month

Business — $1.50 per month

This plan provides a diagnosis of telephone wiring problems. If the trouble is the telephone company's responsibility, it will be fixed promptly. If the trouble is found within your inside wire or telephone that you own, you will be informed where the trouble is located. (Please be aware that inside wire repairs are extra with this plan).

 

PLAN 2 — Inside Wire Protection Plan
(applies to a single line only)

Residential — $2.00 per month

Business — $2.50 per month

This plan identifies the problem, and provides repair and maintenance of the trouble found on your inside wiring. (Customer-owned telephones are not included.)

 

NOTE: Customers who do not have either plan will be charged for the identification of the trouble and the repair of the problem. With Plan 1, a charge will be assessed only if you authorize CVTC to do the repairs. With Plan 2, no charge will be assessed for identifying or repairing your inside wire.
