AREA SENIOR CITIZENS NEWS

Crowder Senior Citizens Center
Crowder Senior Citizens Center is open to the public on Wednesdays and provides a nutritious meal at 12:00 p.m. The suggested donation for the meal is $ 5.50. Contact the center at 918-334-6808.

Choctaw Nation Senior Citizens
The Nutrition and Supportive Services Program provides meals, information and referral, transportation and arts and crafts to Indian Senior Citizens 55 years of age and older. The program provides one meal per week at the local Community Centers throughout the Choctaw Nation.  The centers currently in operation are:  Idabel, Bethel, Hugo, Antlers, Coalgate, McAlester, Wilburton, Stigler, Poteau, Durant, Broken Bow, Atoka, Wright City, Crowder, Spiro, Smithville and Talihina. Talihina provides meals five days a week, and members of federally recognized Indian tribes who are visiting the hospital may have a meal prepared for them by calling
918- 567-3916 in advance.  Annual activities include the Annual Senior Citizen Day and Honoring of Outstanding Senior Choctaw Male and Female. Program activities include transportation services to tribally sponsored events for eligible participants.

Indianola Senior Citizens Center
Indianola Senior Citizens is open to the public, offering a nutritious meal Monday through Friday at 12:00 p.m.  The cost for lunch is $3.00 or you can purchase a weekly meal ticket for $10.00.

Indianola Senior Citizens Center is available by contract agreement for family reunions and other family gatherings. Also, they do in-house catering for wedding receptions, graduation banquets, class reunions, religious get-togethers and a variety of other family or community oriented activities.
